Collaborative design of accessible and effective XR applications for mental health improvement and employment support in depressed adults (PI)

Funded by the Participatory Research Awards from Research England, this project explores how extended reality (XR) technologies can be co-designed with people experiencing depression to support their mental health and employment goals. Through a collaborative approach involving users, clinicians, and designers, the project aims to develop accessible, engaging, and effective XR tools that enhance emotional well-being, build confidence, and support job readiness. The work seeks to create more inclusive and responsive digital support systems, empowering individuals with depression to thrive in both health and employment.
