Participatory Design of XR Solutions for Mental Health and Employment in Depressed Adults (PI)
This project, funded by the Participatory Research Awards (Research England), explores how extended reality (XR) technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality can be co-designed with people living with depression to support their mental health and employment opportunities. Through participatory design involving individuals with lived experience, healthcare professionals, and researchers, the project aims to develop accessible, engaging, and effective XR applications that address emotional well-being, boost confidence, and support job readiness. The goal is to create inclusive digital tools that respond to real-world needs and help improve quality of life through technology-enhanced support.
